PERSONALITY FEATURE: The Guy Who Sets the Crowd on Fire

God is good to me; He is the center of my life that is why I am experiencing good things now. I showed my talent that I believe appropriate and I am happy because by this, I shared what God has given to me. This is how thankful Jayson Aro is, an Information Technology student of Cagayan de Oro College-PHINMA (COC-PHINMA).

Jayson is the champion of the most entertaining and fascinating show during the celebration of the 64th Foundation Day of COC-PHINMA, the Show Me What You’ve Got: A COC Talent Show. Among the 14 acts of the talent show, only Jayson thrilled the audience as he transformed into El Fuego Fire Dancer, a Poi dancer. Poi Dancing is a type of dance which is common in Hawaii, using a small ball of woven flax, swung on string in Maori songs and dances.

Jayson, discovered his talent in dancing when he was still 16. At the age of 20, due to the influence of media and internet, he tried a new and enthralling type of dance-the Poi Dancing. He rarely practices Poi dancing because he gives priority to his studies but when he joins contests, it’s more or less two (2) weeks before the contest, and he practices just to master the skills, learn new techniques and ready to grab the bacon.

Fortunately, his parents are very supportive to his studies and in Poi dancing. During his endeavor in Poi dancing, he joined several contests, in the City, he won 2nd place together with his group. He usually dances with a group to make it more thrilling and exhilarating. Jayson, together with his team joined a national contest, somewhere in the beautiful and relaxing place in Island Garden, City of Samal. Luckily, the strong faith of the team and their extraordinary skills in Poi dancing brought them up to the Championship as they brought home the bacon.

By his sheer determination to share and inspire his fellow COCeans, he joined the contest and with great fortitude, he won, planting his feet on the ground and willing to share his skills to others.

He will first prioritize his studies, talent, family and God as his center of everything. If opportunities will knock on his door, he is firm with his stands and principles that if the opportunity is for him, it will knock again and again; he will finish his studies first. “God has a good plan for me”.

OPINION COLUMN

Piolo Tagged Gay

After the break-up with KC Concepcion, the rumor was noisy again since it was started way back then. KC Concepcion’s interview was all implied that may lead to the sexuality of Piolo.

Issues were spread way before KC-Piolo story. It was when party hoppers saw Sam and Papa P kissing each other in a corner of a particular bar. Is it really Papa P or Sam is the hermaphrodite?

Above all this, Piolo stays strong and still concentrating on his career. Now, he is still in ASAP and continuing making his name and protecting his reputation as a hunk in show business.
